The Grain and Line In The Space design by Global Interior A Design Co. Ltd. is a residential project that combines elegance and functionality. The design team aimed to create a space that would develop a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere while also providing visual interest.
One of the unique features of this design is the half-high TV master wall, which makes the open-plan public area extremely spacious. By putting the living room, dining area, and kitchen on the same axis, they are independent yet rely on each other. This layout creates visual gradation through the use of materials, colors, and lights, making the home a paradise in the city and a space for sharing and enjoyment with family and friends.
The floor material chosen for this design is the owner's favorite natural stone material. It is used not only for the floor but also for the Master Vision Wall, dining table, kitchen island, and part of the wall. The use of marble with obvious grain adds a sense of depth and tension to the space. The black mirror below the wall adds a touch of lightness and balances the extensive use of stone material. The design also incorporates a gradation effect by piling different colors and textures of marble, black mirror, and wood-folding ceiling.
The interior space covers approximately 115 square meters and features a wooden ceiling that enhances the overall sense of space and depth. It cleverly conceals the large air and beam adjustment equipment on the ceiling while connecting the main areas of living and dining. This design choice fulfills the owner's desire to make the public domain more comfortable and spacious.
In order to create a magnificent and elegant place to welcome guests, the design team paid attention to every detail of the public space. The design not only provides a feast for the eyes but also offers convenience and practical life functions. The sofa is custom-made to encourage great conversations with the owner, and an overhead projector turns the living room into a home theater for the owners' enjoyment. The half-high TV master wall separates the living room and dining room, breaking the narrow pattern and improving visual penetration. The living room is warm yet expansive.
The Grain and Line In The Space design was completed in April 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The design team faced the challenge of expanding the visual effect in the public space to create a welcoming environment for friends and family. The result is a design that combines warmth, elegance, and functionality.
This design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. The award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills and contribute to quality of life improvements.
